Description: Streams and creeks in Marin County, with anadromous fish attributes.DescriptionStreams and creeks in Marin County. Source of most linework is American Digital Cartography, but some linework has been added by DPW staff and contractors, either by incorporating GPS and/or other digital data, or using contour data, etc. (see Source field). There is a field for whether the linework has been edited to the ortho photos (Geo_rectif). This dataset has attributes for anadromous fish.Per DH, American Digital Cartography probably delivered the dataset in 1992. It was likely digitized at 1:100,000 and was probably associated with TIGER files. Much of Novato was missing and was digitized by RT. West Marin was not well covered except for National Park Service, State Parks, and MMWD lands.Field COURSE_TYP contains attributes for perennial. ephermeral, intermittant stream types.Field COMBO has data relating to anadromous fish species:0 - no anadromous1 - steelhead2 - coho (not used as coho always with steelhead)3 - steelhead and coho4 - Chinook5 - steelhead and Chinook6 - Chinook and coho (not used as coho always with steelhead)7 - steelhead, coho, and ChinookSome attributes for anadromous fish have been changed to reflect Lance's Fish Streams map of November 2006 per discussion with Liz Lewis.LW 03/12/08.Many upstream segments did not connect to downstream reaches; many of these (not saying ALL) were fixed. A few duplicate stream sections were deleted.LW 09/05/08.Edit work on Arroyo Avichi, esp at Trash rack, thru pipe out to Novato Creek.LW 09/29/08Added upper reaches in Gallinas Creek watershed; corrected stream IDs.LW 10/16/2008Corrected Miller Creek; double line work for stretches where Andi Peri had GPS'ed from within stream banks. Deleted extra linework (ADC), smoothed jumpy GPS lines.LW 10/20/2008.Fixed an unnamed tributary of Cheda Creek draining Pacheco Pond. Previous stream layer showed historic path, but the area has been paved over by the Vintage Oaks shopping center. Deleted stream path north of the pond (StreamID 1018). Marked path through the pond as Artificial. Realigned southerly path to join Cheda Creek, per Pat Balderama and Bene da Silva.LW 11/10/2008.Added segment for current path of Bear Valley Creek, called New Bear Valley Creek. Left in Old Bear Valley Creek for now. Corrected some StreamIDs for uniqueness.LW 11/17/2008.Deleted linework for Laurel Way Silt Basin (StreamID 782). (Created polygon feature for the silt basin in Ponds_stormwater layer).LW 11/18/2008.Re-aligned Fairfax Creek to flow north of Olema Rd.LW 12/01/08.Standardized entries for Hydrograph field (LAKE and TUNNEL); corrected a few Anadromous fish data (Combo was correct, but species wasn't).LW 12/17/08.Deleted stream segment from Woodacre Cr/Carson Rd crossing - no longer a double-barrel culvert as of 2008.LW 12/19/2008.Corrected extent of Steelhead on Woodacre Creek WF per Paola Bouley. Broke into two segments, inc. new StreamID = 2223.LW 01/02/2009.Corrected alignment and added tributary to Spring Creek in San Geronimo Valley, based on site visit 01/06/09 investigating fish passage barriers.Corrected alignment and added tributary to San ramon Creek in Novato, per Bronson's notes on Creek Maintenance maps.LW 01/07/2009.Corrected projection. From: Projected coordinate system name: NAD_1983_HARN_StatePlane_California_III_FIPS_0403To: Projected coordinate system name: NAD_1983_HARN_StatePlane_California_III_FIPS_0403_FeetLW 01/21/2009.Corrected downstream segment of Redwood Canyon Creek in Inverness as it flows into Tomales Bay. Corrected alignment and added segment of channel to man-made pond.LW 01/22/2009.Re-aligned the confluence area of Warner/Vineyard Creeks in Novato, using B. da Silva's data from April 2008.LW 01/28/2009.Corrected StreamID; 3 were duplicated when fixing anadromous presence in SGV.LW 2/17/2009.Added field called AnadSource to document studies and surveys of fish presence.LW 2/18/2009.Added in tributary to Old Mill Creek per Laura Chariton's information.LW 3/06/2009.Added a new Combo number 7 for streams where steelhead, coho, and Chinook are all present.LW 03/26/2009.Attributed all records with Combo >0 with AnadSource (except for Estero Americano; waiting on data from DFG). Shortened some stream extents away from ridgetops, using Nick's modeled creek extents.LW 04/15/2009.Added four columns for channel attributes; data contained in these fields should be considered DRAFT until further notice.LW 05/11/2009.Additional work around Stemple Creek. Connected segments. Corrected linework on Sonoma County portions to align better with Sonoma NHD and contour lines.LW 09/25/2009Alignment work on Arroyo San Jose and tribs, and to connect trib to mainstem.LW 10/08/2009.Added in segments to Ross Cr, Tamalpais Cr and Murphy Cr in Corte Madera Creek watershed and three subwatersheds in Novato Creek watershed from Team NHD densification. LW 11/10/2009.Re-aligned creeks in San Geronimo Creek watershed per Team NHD methodology.LW 12/11/2009.Re-aligned streams in Easkoot Creek watershed per Team NHD methodology.LW 12/29/2009.Re-aligned streams in Novato Creek watershed per Team NHD methodology.LW 12/31/2009.Fixed area of confluence of Fairfax and San Anselmo creeks.LW 01/04/2010.Re-aligned and added segments to streams in San Rafael Creek watershed per Team NHD methodology.LW 01/11/2010.Corrected anadromous attributes for part of Fish Hatchery Creek to Steelhead from SFD to Tomales Bay; also deleted a strange line segment from the creek, across SFD in straight line, to connect with ranchland ditch.LW 03/25/2010.There are features for Embankment in this dataset that should eventually be put into a polygon water feature; in the meantime, these features that had previously had anadromous attributes were edited so that the embankment does not hold anadromous attributes (doing so messes up calculations of anadromous stream miles).LW 05/20/2010.
